Veterinarians:
Dr. Cristina Mollenkopf, DVM
Dr. Mollenkopf was born and raised in Queens, New York. She graduated from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. The following year she completed an internship in Medicine and Surgery at the South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She lived in Boston for several years before moving to Baltimore.
Dr. Mollenkopf has been with the Maryland SPCA since April of 2004. She is proud to be part of an organization that serves the community.
She shares her home with her three cats: Raven, Taz and Simon. In her free time she enjoys reading mysteries, hiking, riding her bike, and travelling.
Dr. Mohana Ramappa, DVM
Dr. Ramappa is originally from India. After graduating with degree in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ramappa worked in various capacities in animal health industry, including small animal private practice, and Pharmaceutical technical services.
Dr. Ramappa has great interest in Internal Medicine, Shelter Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Wellness care. He enjoys working with small animals - dogs and cats. Dr. Ramappa also enjoys performing soft tissue surgeries including routine spay and neuter.
Dr. Ramappa has been with MD SPCA since 2008. He is proud to be part of a team that shares the great vision and mission of helping animals and community.
Dr. Ramappa lives in Columbia, MD with his wife, son and a cat. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his son, his cat and on VIN (Veterinary Information Network). He enjoys bike riding and vacationing at the beach.
Technicians:
Rudae Kenly
Rudae has worked at the Maryland SPCA as a Veterinary and Surgical Technician for almost three years, and she loves what she does!
She graduated in 2007 with a degree in Science from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. Rudae also received her certificate in Phlebotomy in 2009.
Rudae has always been an animal lover, and shares her home with her three pets: a cat named Peaches, and two dogs, Russell and Chloe.
Amy DiStefano
Amy knew growing up that she wanted to work with animals. In 1992, when she was 16 years, old she started working as a veterinary assistant. Since then she has worked in numerous shelters and veterinary hospitals.
In the last 20 years Amy has done many things in the animal welfare field; making toys, dog training, massage therapy, hydrotherapy, grooming, and veterinary and surgical technician.
At the Maryland SPCA Amy is an Animal Care Technician as well as a veterinary technician at Hampden Pet Health. Amy finds working at the Maryland SPCA to be a rewarding and enjoyable career.
Customer Service Representative:
Dominic Bulkley
Dominic was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He currently attends the University of Maryland where he is majoring in Environmental Studies and minors in Biology and English. Dominic is also pursuing his Modern Languages and Literatures Certificate in Spanish.
Dominic is an independent, fun-loving, social critter with a passion for manatees and cheese (even though he is lactose intolerant). Dominic loves saving manatees, origami, picnics with wine, movies, music, and animal welfare!
Administrator:
Marie Mackamul
Marie was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. She spent her childhood moving from country to country with her Military family. Marie was fortunate enough to live in many great countries such as Sudan, Mexico, and Morocco.
Marie studied Anthropology and Archaeology while going to college in California. She moved to Maryland in June of 2000 to pursue these areas of study.
In May of 2001 Marie began working at the Maryland SPCA and never looked back. She has always had a passion for animals and animal welfare, and was able to find a job that she loved. Marie has worked at the Maryland SPCA for almost 9 years and has held many positions: she has worked as an Adoption Counselor, and Administration Assistant, and as the Maryland SPCA’s Spay/Neuter Programs Manager; Marie is currently the Maryland SPCA’s External Programs Administrator. She is looking forward to helping Hampden Pet Health serve the Hampden area and the homeless animals that the Maryland SPCA cares for.
Marie shares her home with her boyfriend Scott, and her fabulous pets. She enjoys fishing, reading, learning, animal welfare, and has recently become a fan of Yoga (she also loves saving manatees as well).
